Shahab Hafeez To Join Warid Tel

Shahab Hafeez, Senior Manager Marketing Operations of Mobilink has quit Orascom Group to join Warid Tel of Abu Dhabi Group. He will assume the office of Head of Marketing Operations and Public Relations at Warid Tel, sources said.

Hafeez is a renowned marketer having vast professional experience in this field. Hafeez started his telecom experience in 2002 when he joined Mobilink in the Marketing Operations segment. He was appointed by Zouhair Khaliq later to assist him in the President Office at strategic level.

After the departure of Mr. Khaliq, Hafeez was asked to divide his duties while working at the same strategic side and simultaneously working in the Marketing Department in the Operations segments.

Sources said the Hafeez and Zouhair have built up close relationship at Mobilink owing to professional competence and mutual understanding between two telecom specialists.

They added that Mobilink’s top executives are likely to become the part of Warid Tel having interviewed for different position.

Previously, the former CEO Zouhair Khaliq Mobilink and Naeem Zamindar Vice President of Strategy, Business Development had joined Abu Dhabi Group as Board member and CEO Wateen. Other telecom experts like Suhail Jan, Amer Aman, Furqan Bucha, Syed Jibran Ali, Sohaib Sheikh and a few others who previously were part of the Mobilink team, are now part of the emerging & aggressive team of Warid & Wateen.

It seems Warid Tel that was being acquired by Mobliink in the rumours in the recent past is now appointing talented workforce of Orascom’s cellular operator with an aggressive  approach to give tough time to all market players in the cellular industry.
