Youtube boycott being planned in Pakistan

A section of unidentified people in Pakistan have planned to lodge their protest with Youtube through boycotting it on September 20.

The people appealed to Pakistan internet users not to use Youtube on September 20 and prove their unity to mark their protest against the sacrilegious movie.

The SMS being circulated among people states that

               “ 22 million internet users can realize them (Youtube management) to remove

                 this movie from Youtube and can show the world that we love our Prophet

                 Muhammad PBUH.”

Youtube is the third most viewed website in Pakistan after Facebook.com and Google.com.pk. It was earlier completely blocked for few days in Pakistan in May 2010 along with Facebook which refused to remove a blasphemous page.

Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has blocked the access of the movie “Innocence of Muslims” though it can be viewed reported on the networks of few internet providers.

So far, the movie has been made inaccessible in different countries such as India, Malaysia and Indonesia.
